Dr. Brian van Devener joins the Surface Lab
It is my pleasure to announce Dr. Brian van Devener, a recent graduate from the Department of Chemistry, has joined the technical staff of the Surface Science and nanoImaging lab as of September 1st.
Dr. Brian van Devener will initially be focused on surface characterization using the Kratos XPS instrument, and preparing for the installation of the recently purchased Dual-beam Focused Ion Beam (db-FIB) system that will be arriving September 22nd. Brian will also be helping with other tools in the Surface Lab as he develops his proficiency with them.
His Ph.D. focused on detailed surface characterization of materials using XPS and ISS (ion scattering spectroscopy) techniques, so will expand the range and depth of experiments that can be conducted in the Surface Lab.
